Scott Kirby is chief executive officer of United Airlines. He served as the company’s president from 2016 to 2020 and was responsible for United’s operations, marketing, sales, alliances, network planning and revenue management. As president, he played a pivotal role in enabling United’s cultural transformation and executing the company’s strategic growth plan.
Prior to joining United, Scott was president of American Airlines from 2013 to 2016 and president of US Airways from 2006 to 2013. He is a well-known industry veteran, with a broad and accomplished three-decade-long career in significant leadership roles within the airline industry. Scott started his career at the Pentagon and in the technology sector.
Scott has bachelor’s degrees in computer science and operations research from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a Master of Science in operations research from George Washington University. He is married and has six children.
Kate GeboExecutive Vice President, Human Resources and Labor RelationsKate Gebo is the executive vice president of human resources and labor relations for United Airlines. Kate is responsible for leading a global team of more than 500 professionals in the transformation of United’s culture.
In her role, Kate and her team are the principle drivers of delivering on commitments to employees to provide a great employee experience; recruiting, developing and retaining top talent; and building effective teams to put customers at the center of everything United does while working closely with our labor partners.
Kate previously served as senior vice president of customer service delivery and chief customer officer at United. She was responsible for delivering an integrated and industry-leading travel experience for customers from booking to landing. Kate also previously served as United’s vice president for the office of the CEO, where she worked with United’s CEO, Oscar Munoz and the executive team to coordinate strategic company initiatives.
Kate joined United in 1998 and also held roles leading the Corporate Real Estate organization and in Procurement. Prior to joining United, Kate worked at Continental Airlines.
Kate received her bachelor’s degree in finance from Chicago’s DePaul University. She earned a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Business at Loyola University of Chicago.
Brett J. Hart

Brett J. Hart is president of United. In this role, Brett is responsible for leading the company’s external-facing functions including the government affairs, corporate communications, advertising, legal, global community engagement and environmental sustainability teams. He also oversees business-critical functions such as the customer experience, corporate real estate, human resources and labor relations teams.
Previously, Brett served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer for United, where he oversaw the company’s legal and environmental affairs; corporate security; corporate real estate worldwide; government affairs; community affairs; and international, regulatory and policy matters for the airline. Prior to joining United in 2010, Brett was executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Sara Lee Corporation, where he directed global legal operations for the corporation. After joining Sara Lee in 2004 as assistant general counsel, Brett held positions of increasing responsibility including deputy general counsel and global compliance officer. Before joining Sara Lee, Brett was a partner at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal in Chicago. Prior to that, he served as special assistant to the general counsel at the U.S. Department of Treasury in Washington, D.C.
Brett received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and English from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School. He is married and has three sons.
Gregory (Greg) Hart
Gregory (Greg) HartExecutive Vice President, Strategy and Planning
Greg Hart is the executive vice president of strategy and planning at United. In this role, Greg is focused on critical issues including safety, hygiene and building a more operationally efficient airline. Previously, Greg was the executive vice president and chief operations officer responsible for all flight operations, technical operations and network operations, as well as cargo, safety and United Express. Greg also oversaw United’s global customer service delivery functions including customer contact centers, inflight operations, airport operations, food services and United clubs.
Prior to that, Greg was senior vice president of technical operations at United. Greg also served as senior vice president of network at United from 2010 to 2012 and as vice president of network strategy for Continental Airlines from 2008 to 2010. Greg held various leadership positions at Continental Airlines since joining in 1997, including staff vice president of domestic scheduling and managing director of corporate development.
A native of Milwaukee, Greg received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1987 and a master’s in business administration from Cornell University in 1993. He is married and has two children.
Linda JojoExecutive Vice President Technology and Chief Digital Officer
Linda Jojo is executive vice president of technology and chief digital officer for United Airlines, responsible for information technology, data analytics, digital products, e-commerce, cyber security and the airline’s digital strategy.
Prior to joining United in 2014, Linda held the position of executive vice president and chief information officer for Rogers Communications, Canada’s leading wireless, cable and media company. She also served as the CIO for Energy Future Holdings Corporation and Flowserve Corporation. Earlier in her career, she worked for GE in various technology leadership roles.
Throughout her career, Linda and her teams have been recognized by multiple organizations for technology leadership. Most recently she was awarded Chicago’s 2017 “CIO of the Year” and named to Crain’s Chicago Business 2016 and 2018 “Tech 50.”
In addition to her work, Linda is passionate about preparing young people for STEM careers. She is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Adler Planetarium in Chicago and a member of the Board of Trustees at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
Linda, who is married, holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Gerald (Gerry) Laderman
Gerald (Gerry) LadermanExecutive Vice President and Chief Financial OfficerGerry Laderman is executive vice president and chief financial officer for United. In this role, Gerry is responsible for developing United’s overall financial strategy, including cost management, capital allocation and balance sheet optimization.
Gerry is a 30-year United veteran and brings extensive experience to this role. Previously, as a member of the senior executive leadership team, he served as treasurer and senior vice president of finance and procurement. In this role Gerry oversaw corporate finance, treasury operations, risk management, fleet management, tax and procurement (including fuel, technical and corporate procurement).
Gerry was senior vice president of finance and treasurer for Continental Airlines from 2001 to 2010. Gerry joined Continental in 1988 as senior director of legal affairs, finance and aircraft programs. Prior to joining Continental, Gerry practiced law at the New York firm of Hughes Hubbard & Reed from 1982 to 1988.
Gerry graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor of arts degree in 1979, and the University of Michigan Law School with a juris doctor in 1982. He is married and has three children.
Andrew NocellaExecutive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer
Andrew Nocella is United’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer. He brings expansive knowledge to this position, having joined the industry over 20 years ago. In his current role, Andrew oversees United’s cargo, United Express, pricing and revenue management, network and commercial strategy, sales, marketing functions and MileagePlus.
Before joining United, Andrew held various leadership positions at American Airlines and US Airways. He most recently served as senior vice president of network planning, alliance and sales at American Airlines, where he oversaw the airline’s route schedule, global sales and partnerships with other airlines. Before that role, he was senior vice president of marketing and planning at US Airways.
He also spent time in route planning for Continental Airlines. Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science in decision sciences from George Mason University.
Torbjorn (Toby) J. Enqvist
Torbjorn (Toby) J. EnqvistSenior Vice President, Chief Customer Officer
Toby Enqvist is the senior vice president and chief customer
officer at United. He is responsible for overseeing our inflight
services, corporate real estate, contact centers and customer
care, customer strategy and innovation, and customer experience
Toby has been in the airline industry for over 24 years, joining
Continental in 1996. During these 24 years with Continental and
United Airlines, Toby has held several senior leadership positions
within operations and finance. Toby was most recently senior
vice president of network operations and customer solutions
for United. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations
of the airline in the areas of operational control, he was and
still is responsible for overseeing contact centers and customer
care teams. Another part of his past and current experience is
developing and giving our front-line employees the tools, policies
and processes needed to succeed at their jobs on a daily basis.
Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, Toby moved to the U.S. to
attend Ouachita Baptist University on a tennis scholarship, where
he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration. He
received his Master of Business Administration from Southern
Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He is also a member of
the Northwestern University Business Advisory Council. He is
married and has a daughter.
Jonathan (Jon) Roitman
Jonathan (Jon) RoitmanExecutive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer
Jon Roitman is executive vice president and chief operations officer for United. Jon is responsible for all airports, flight operations, technical operations, network operations and United Ground Express, as well as safety across United’s global network. Most recently Jon was senior vice president of airport and network operations for United, overseeing worldwide airport operations as well as United’s Network Operations Center in Chicago.
Prior to that, Jon served as vice president of the Newark and Cleveland hubs, overseeing all aspects of the operation for both locations. Jon began his aviation career at Continental Airlines, starting in 1997 as director of design and construction in the Corporate Real Estate group. He subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility.
Before joining Continental, Jon was the manager of business development for BWAB Incorporated, a real estate development and oil and gas production firm located in Denver, Colorado. Jon is a United States Army veteran and resigned from active duty as a field artillery captain.
Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an MBA in business, real estate and construction management from the University of Denver. He is married to Megan Meighan and has a son (Ari), a daughter (Lucy) and two stepsons (Aidan and Liam).
Bryan QuigleySenior Vice President of Flight Operations United Airlines
Captain Bryan Quigley is senior vice president of flight operations. In this role, Bryan serves as the airline’s FAA certificate director of operations and leads the company’s flight operations division. His responsibilities include overseeing 12,500 pilots; developing and implementing pilot contracts, policies and procedures; overseeing all pilot domiciles, training, flight standards and flight technology; as well as the division’s operating and capital budgets.
Prior to this position, Bryan was vice president and general manager of United’s San Francisco hub. He was responsible for the safety and execution of all operations at this vital hub for United. Bryan also served as managing director and System Chief Pilot and managing director of flight operations. These roles were critical during the operational integration of policies and procedures associated with the merger between Continental and United Airlines.
Prior to joining United, Bryan served as a U.S. Naval Aviator and retired as a Navy Captain from the U.S. Navy Reserve. He commanded Patrol Squadron 62 in Jacksonville, Florida, and served as a senior staff officer to NATO prior to retirement.
Bryan received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Appalachian State University and completed the Executive Scholar Program from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Jason BirnbaumSenior Vice President, Digital Technology
Jason Birnbaum is the senior vice president of digital technology. He is responsible for supporting United’s commercial technologies, including the loyalty, sales, network and revenue management departments.
Jason previously served as the vice president of operations technology, where he was responsible for the effective implementation and management of technology strategies and solutions to support United’s global operations.
Prior to this role, Jason held the position of executive vice president and chief information officer for SIRVA Inc., where he had full responsibility for all customer facing and business support IT systems. He also served as the chief information officer for GE Health Care Global Supply Chain and GE Industrial Europe.
Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri and an MBA from the University of Illinois. Jason is married and has three sons.
Jake CefoliaSenior Vice President, Worldwide SalesJake Cefolia is senior vice president of Worldwide Sales for United Airlines. He is responsible for leading over 700 sales professionals who manage sales programs, services and relationships with corporations, travel management companies and distributors around the world.
Prior to this position, Jake served as vice president, Sales for the Americas. In this role, he oversaw sales for the U.S., Canada and Latin America as well as the Global Accounts Division. He has also served as vice president, Atlantic and Pacific sales, as managing director of the Global Accounts Division and as managing director for United’s Pacific region, based in Hong Kong.
Before joining United in 2007, Jake held various sales leadership roles at Northwest Airlines and British Airways. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Jake has been an active leader in regional business organizations, including serving on the Boards of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Young Leaders Circle of the Executives’ Club of Chicago.
Jake holds a BS in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Tom DoxeySenior Vice President, Technical Operations
Tom Doxey is senior vice president of technical operations for United Airlines. In this role, Tom oversees all of United’s global technical operations functions, including line and base maintenance functions; aircraft reliability and regulatory compliance; administrative, engineering, planning and production support of airframes, engines and components; technical supply chain and stores; facilities maintenance; and ground service equipment maintenance.
Tom previously served as vice president and chief financial officer of operations at United Airlines. He and his teams provided financial and analytical support to United’s operations groups, overseeing the budgeting, forecasting and capital expenditure processes with a focus on achieving important operational and financial goals. Tom also oversaw United’s fleet planning and transactions functions.
Prior to joining United, Tom served as vice president of fleet and corporate finance at Allegiant. He was responsible for all aircraft and corporate finance transactions, materials planning, fleet planning, technical purchasing, repair and inventory management (including the stores function) and the financial management of airframe and engine heavy maintenance programs. Tom also held various roles in financial planning and analysis at Allegiant.
Before joining Allegiant, Tom held a variety of positions at Merrill Lynch and oversaw multiple fleet and finance-related groups at US Airways.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, where he was a collegiate baseball player, and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University.
Josh EarnestSenior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer
Josh Earnest is senior vice president and chief communications
officer for United Airlines. He serves on United’s Executive
Team and leads a world-class team to develop and implement
the airline’s global communications, advertising and community
engagement strategies. Josh works closely with leaders across
the company to shape the airline’s public image and serves as the
company’s chief spokesman. He brings to this role more than two
decades of strategic communications expertise from the highest
levels of politics and government, which included serving as
White House Press Secretary.
Before joining United in May 2018, Josh was a political analyst
for NBC News and MSNBC, making appearances on the network’s
leading news programs including the Today Show, Meet the Press
and NBC Nightly News. During this time, he traveled across the
country and around the world speaking to audiences of corporate
executives, senior government officials, thought leaders, journalists
and students about the challenges of communicating in the modern

Theresa (Terri) Fariello

Terri Fariello is the senior vice president of government affairs and global public policy at United. In this role, Terri leads the company’s federal, state and international government engagement, including environmental affairs. She is based in Washington, D.C.
Before joining United, Terri served as vice president of Exxon Mobil Corporation’s Washington, D.C. office and led the company’s federal and state government affairs operation. In her 16-year tenure at Exxon Mobil, Terri advised the company’s senior leadership on key issues before Congress, the executive branch and state governments.
Prior to joining Exxon Mobil, Terri served as deputy assistant secretary for International Energy Policy in the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy and held senior leadership positions at Occidental Petroleum Corporation. She also served as a Congressional aide to two members of Congress. Throughout her career, Terri has been recognized for leadership in government relations, including being named to the Washingtonian Magazine’s list of “Most Powerful Women” and The Hill’s “Top Lobbyists.”
Terri holds an LLM in International and Comparative Law from the Georgetown University Law Center and a juris doctorate from George Mason University School of Law. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from George Washington University.
Terri serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Humane Rescue Alliance. She contributes to her community by serving on the boards of a number of groups including the National Archives Foundation, Public Affairs Council, Business Council for International Understanding, the Economic Club of Washington, D.C., the Carlton Club and Ford’s Theatre.
John GeboSenior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer
John Gebo is senior vice president and chief transformation officer at United Airlines, responsible for helping the company prepare to meet the challenges following unprecedented industry disruption. Prior to his current position he was senior vice president of alliances for United, responsible for the company’s global alliance strategy and relationships with its many airline partners around the world.
Previously, John served as United’s senior vice president of financial planning and analysis. In that role, he was responsible for United’s business planning and analysis functions, including annual and long-term operating and capital budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, financial analysis, and investor relations, as well as the enterprise optimization and continuous improvement groups. John joined United in 2000 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility in the finance, investor relations and commercial divisions.
Prior to joining United, John worked at General Motors Corporation in manufacturing engineering. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan. John currently serves on the boards of Copa Holdings S.A. and Azul Brazilian Airlines, and for 8 years served on the board of Alliant Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in the United States, last serving as vice chairman in 2018.
Christopher (Chris) T. Kenny
Christopher (Chris) T. KennyVice President and ControllerChris Kenny is vice president and controller for United. In this role, he is responsible for all accounting, financial reporting and internal controls.
Prior to this position, Chris was vice president and controller for Continental Airlines. Chris joined Continental in 1997 and has held various roles of increasing responsibility including managing director of corporate accounting, where he directed both corporate accounting and revenue accounting departments.
Prior to Continental, he was assistant controller for Halliburton Energy Services and senior manager for Ernst & Young LLP.
Chris received his bachelor’s of business administration degree from the University of Texas. He is married and has seven children.
Janet LamkinPresident, California
Janet Lamkin is United Airline’s president for California. Appointed to the role in 2017, Janet drives the strategy for United’s growth in the state, which includes the airline’s hubs in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Janet leads United’s effort to be the leading airline for California customers, and works with multiple stakeholders to develop short- and long-term strategies to benefit United customers, positioning United for further growth in the state. As United’s most senior executive in California, Janet engages with nonprofit and philanthropic organizations to deepen United’s roots in the California communities the company serves.
Prior to this role, Janet served as the California state president for Bank of America. She was responsible for growing the business and strategically positioning the bank in California, including developing and maintaining relationships within the corporate, government and grassroots sectors. Janet spent 20 years with Bank of America, serving in a variety of senior management positions.
Janet recently concluded a two-year term as the chair of the Bay Area Council, the first woman to hold that post. The San Francisco Business Times has recognized Janet as one of the 100 Most Influential Businesswomen in the Bay Area for eight consecutive years. She has been a champion of diversity, inclusion and women’s leadership throughout her career, and she speaks regularly on these issues. She sits on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the German Marshal Fund, SFMOMA, the UCSF Health Executive Council and the California Academy of Sciences.

Sarah MurphySenior Vice President, United ExpressSarah Murphy is the senior vice president of United Express, where she oversees United’s extensive regional network, product, customer service, operations and strategy.
Prior to this role, Sarah served as United’s vice president of global operations strategy, planning and design, where her responsibilities included leading all customer-facing operations strategy and planning to help the airline’s employees deliver better reliability and service.
Sarah was instrumental in launching United’s core4 service model, founded on four standards: safe, caring, dependable and efficient. The airline began core4 training with its customerfacing employees and eventually rolled out the training to all 93,000 United employees.
Previously, Sarah served as United’s vice president of financial planning and analysis, overseeing the airline’s operating and capital budgets. Sarah also served as United’s managing director of financial and capital planning and leading investor relations.
Prior to joining United in 2006, Sarah worked at Merrill Lynch in its investment banking division.
In 2015, Sarah was named one of Crain’s Chicago’s “40 Under 40.” She holds a Bachelor of Science from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Sarah and her husband have two children.
Robert (Bob) Rivkin
Robert (Bob) RivkinSenior Vice President and General Counsel
Bob Rivkin is senior vice president and general counsel for United. He leads United’s Legal Department, including the corporate, securities, finance, commercial, litigation, government contracts, intellectual property, antitrust, environmental, employment and international groups. Bob is also responsible for security, facilitation, compliance, ethics and investigations.
Prior to joining United, Bob served as deputy mayor of the city of Chicago. He oversaw the implementation of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s key priorities across city departments and agencies, focusing his efforts on economic development, job creation and retention, and infrastructure.
Bob was previously deputy general counsel of Delta Air Lines, where he was responsible for addressing governmental regulation and oversight in the U.S. and abroad, as well as litigation, antitrust, employment and real estate legal issues. Prior to joining Delta, Bob served four years as general counsel of the U.S. Department of Transportation, after being nominated by President Obama and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Earlier in his career, Bob was deputy general counsel of Aon Corporation and general counsel of the Chicago Transit Authority. He has also worked in private law practice, as a federal prosecutor, for the British Parliament and at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
Bob graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College, received a juris doctor degree from Stanford Law School, where he was an associate editor of the Stanford Law Review, and clerked for Judge Joel M. Flaum of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. He is currently on the boards of the National Park Foundation, the Chicago Architecture Center and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, and volunteers with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Chicago. His wife, Cindy Moelis, is president of the Pritzker Traubert Foundation. They have three grown children.
John SlaterSenior Vice President, Inflight ServicesJohn Slater is senior vice president of inflight services for United. He is responsible for all aspects of inflight operations, including more than 24,000 flight attendants. He also oversees administration, flight attendant scheduling, policy and procedures, service, staffing, training, and recruiting. Slater brings with him decades of experience and a deep commitment to providing excellent customer service on board United's flights.
Most recently, John was the vice president of inflight operations where he was responsible for training, recruiting, service standards, and operational planning for the inflight division. He was also the vice president of United’s Chicago hub, where he oversaw operations and customer service at Chicago O’Hare. Prior to this role, John was the vice president of sales of the Americas where he oversaw United’s commercial sales division for the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Slater served as Continental’s staff vice president of Latin America. He managed the commercial strategy and management of the Latin America franchise.
Slater was on the executive boards of the Airline Report Corporation, the Global Business Travel Association and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He has two children and three grandchildren.
Mike HannaSenior Vice President, Airport Operations
Mike Hanna is the senior vice president of airport operations for United. In this role, he oversees United’s worldwide airport operations, including United Ground Express, a wholly owned subsidiary of United. Previously, Mike served as vice president of United’s Chicago O’Hare hub.
Before overseeing the United team at O’Hare, Mike held positions of increasing responsibility at United’s San Francisco hub, ascending to vice president of airport operations where he led both the airline’s San Francisco and Los Angeles hubs.
Prior to this position, Mike served as managing director and general manager at three of United’s hubs – Los Angeles, Denver and San Francisco. He joined United in 1998 and has held various roles and responsibilities, including regional manager in Seattle, WA, manager of human resources, and general manager in Salt Lake City, UT, and Ontario, CA.
Mike has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and began his career at WestAir, where he spent five years as general manager in several California cities, including Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Mike holds a dual degree in marketing and management from Humboldt State University and a certification in human resources from Loyola Marymount University. He is married and has three children.
