|United's Flight to Haiti Departs Tomorrow|
"These flights will deliver thousands of pounds of food, water and necessary medical supplies to our neighbors in Haiti who are in great need," said Sonya Jackson, president of the United Airlines Foundation. "Providing our aircraft to transport these much-needed resources to and from Haiti will save lives and help it recover from this devastating event."
In a separate initiative, United customers and employees may earn United Mileage Plus(R) redeemable bonus** miles by contributing to the relief effort. United will reward a one-time 500-mile bonus to individuals who contribute $50 U.S. dollar or more directly to any one of the four organizations: American Red Cross, Airline Ambassadors, Clinton Bush Haiti Relief Fund and Operation USA. United will contribute up to 5 million miles to support this bonus mile offer. To receive this mileage award, participating customers should e-mail a copy of their donation receipt and Mileage Plus number to email@example.com.
For Mileage Plus members and employees who would like to donate miles instead of cash, they can do so through United's nonprofit relief partners that are part of the Charity Miles program.
